Keyword Research
What is Keyword Research?
Keywords are the search terms that are most relevant to your products or services. These can be single words, or more commonly two or three word phrases.
Thorough keyword analysis is the first step to promoting any website online and it will provide the basis for effective search engine optimisation and successful pay per click advertising campaigns, etc. Identifying the most effective keywords will enable your website to be found by those who are most likely to buy your products and services.
How do we undertake a Keyword Analysis?
After an initial brainstorming session with you we will have a range of base terms relating to your business: for example, an artist selling work online may identify search terms such as “canvas art”, “art for the home”, “contemporary art” and “online art gallery”, etc. These base terms are then researched thoroughly and expanded upon by one of our highly experienced SEO consultants using a combination of historical search data and bespoke in-house tools.
We will then provide you with a detailed keyword effectiveness index (KEI) report, which identifies the most popular search terms together with the level of competition for each phrase. These figures combined will give us a KEI total. Essentially the higher the KEI total the easier it should be to attack that search phrase on google and the other top search engines.
Here is an extract from a previous keyword effectiveness report:

Unsuring your website targets the most appropriate and most used keyword search terms is absolutely crucial to search engine optimisation. Without accurate research you could end up targeting keyword phrases that are not being searched for.
